Jesus Christ, Even The Pope Can’t Come Clean About His Sins

by reiko eoh on April 22, 2010

Well, it explains why God sometimes unleashes holy wrath on the world. Just a glimpse of the Vatican sex scandal, while Catholics are venerating Pope Benedict XVI as “God’s emissary on earth,” is enough to make the Woman Upstairs cough up fireballs.

Take the Pope – please. He’s a crafty little devil, that Pope. There he is clinging to God, hanging by his rosaries, and now making even God look bad. Seriously, some might question why God would approve of such creepiness in a Pope. I mean, really. If the Pope himself allowed the cover-up of a priest accused of molesting hundreds of deaf boys, then – hellloooo! – where does that leave God? Probably mad as hell coughing up fireballs. And we wonder why the planet has been shaking and quaking lately!

I love how the Pope finally broke his silence after weeks of trying to avoid the Roman Catholic Church’s sex abuse scandal. To hear His Holiness addressing the issue on the fifth anniversary of his papacy made it rather special: The Church is seeking justice for the children, now adults, who were abused by priests of the Roman Catholic Church. Uh, okay, well…Happy Anniversary?  Oddly comforting news, although how will the Pope seek justice from himself? No soup for you for ten days? No use of the Popemobile? How about a whack from a fireball coming out of nowhere?

But the Pope is indeed taking steps, however calculating. He further admitted to his “shame and sorrow” over the Church’s sex scandals, and promised “the Catholic Church will do everything it can to punish abusive priests and protect the children.” A clever Public Relations move appearing to take responsibility, while deflecting blame.

Pope Benedict has already accepted the resignations of three Irish priests who failed to challenge the Dublin Church’s policy of covering up the sex abuse of children by priests. That’s correct: They actually had a church policy to cover up the sex abuse. Holy twisted perverts!

So brace your bibles sinners, because there’s more to come. More righteous PR maneuvering and more holy blather coming from Pope Benedict XVI, who continues to skirt around the issue of his own sins. How is it that his sins are worse than mine? He’s the Pope for Chrissakes!

His Holiness should take a lesson from the Reverend James Scahill of Massachusetts. Reverend Scahill is more what I would expect from a Pope, or anyone else of the cloth, for that matter. How hard is it to know that pedophilia is wrong? Unless you are a – Whoa! – pedophile?

Something to ponder the next time Pope Benedict XVI makes another PR move.  You know, he could easily wash away all of his sins if he does just one thing – performs a miracle. The way celebrities and sports figures try to do when fans turn against them.

The real sadness is that this has been going on in our churches for decades…and maybe over a century. Church leaders seem to ignore the problem, but I think they were hoping a “higher power” would intervene and correct the situation/problem.

Hi Alan, well, priests should know better than to take advantage of children! Yes, I’m waiting for God to correct the Pope and pervie priests! LoL! Thanks for your comments; appreciate it!
